MCCC - JUST ACT, Weekend Acting Workshop, open for all to apply; under the auspices of Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company, a company created and promoted by Mr. Mukesh Chhabra.
This workshop will include rigorous exercises to enhance acting and improvisation skills. The final out come of these workshops will be productions which will be open to public viewing on 16-18 November, 2018. The productions will be conducted by Mr. Suneel Sinha, Mr. Gopal Datt, Ms. Kanupriya Shankar Pandit.
Casting Director & Acting Coach
Mukesh Chhabra is at the forefront of a new breed of casting directors in India. After training for two years to understand the craft of acting from Sriram Center (receiving a diploma in Acting), and seven plus years in Delhi teaching for NGOs and children with Theater In Education (TIE) in tandem with the National School of Drama, he joined the film industry in Mumbai in 2007.
After assisting several film crews with the job of casting, Mukesh made a name for himself as a casting director with films like Chillar Party, Kai Po Che, Haider, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Gangs of Wasseypur, Dangal and so on. Today, the biggest names in the industry like Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Bhardwaj, Aamir Khan, and AR Rahman all choose MCCC for their casting needs. Smaller-budget filmmakers whose films target the festival circuit also rely on his unique talent to find them the correct ensemble cast. Mukesh and his team pride themselves in bringing the same attention to detail to all projects in their care.
In recognition of his outstanding work he has been made a member of the Casting Association of America (CSA).
After graduating from NSD, Suneel has worked in 70 projects including leading television shows such as "Mirza Ghalib", "Bharat Ek Khoj", "Noorjahan", "Tagore Stories" and then several prestigious and path-breaking films like "Rudali" (1992), "Maachis", "Pinjar", "Ambedkar", "Netaji-The Forgotten Hero" all of which have won National Awards. Some of his recent hits are "Padman", "Teen". He will also be seen in the forthcoming "Manto". Apart from theatre and television, he has made a mark in the digital space with web series such as Dev DD and Breathe.
A prominent personality in the spheres of theatre, film, web series and even sketch comedy, Gopal Datt is an NSD graduate who juggles many hats. His film appearances range from "Tere Naam" and "Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai" to "Phas Gaye Re Obama" and "Samrat". He was also acted in the renowned web series "TVF Pitchers" and "Ladies Room". In an effort to widen his grasp and understanding of entertainment he wrote the lyrics for the Netflix original film "Love Per Square Feet" and garned critical and commercial success for his stage play "Aaj Rang Hai".
After Diploma in Acting, Kanupriya has acted in television serials such as "Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan", "Kumkum Bhagya", and "Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai". A trained Bharatnatyam dancer and a classical vocalist, Pandit puts her training to good use in speech, movement, imagination, improvisation, scriptwriting and prose-poetry recitation classes for young minds. A supporter of UNICEF, she works closely on projects for the under privileged children. Despite such a wide repertoire she also found the time to write, direct and act in the play "Doobdhan". She's can be seen in the film "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" and in an Amazon Prime web series.
Swanand's first brush with direction came when he wrote and directed a play on freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in New Delh, after that there was no looking back. He embarked on an illustrious career that is still in full swing and is laden with more accolades than can even be contained in any paragraph. A two time recipient of the National Film Award for Best Lyrics, first for the song "Bande Mein Tha Dum/Vande Mataram" from Lage Raho Munna Bhai and second for the song "Behti Hawaa Sa Tha Woh" from 3 Idiots. Filmfare nominated him for Best Lyrics for his writing in the song "Piyu Bole" from the film Parineeta.
Specialising in "Parsi Theatre", Imitiaz is an NSD graduate. He can be seen in films like "Rocket Singh", "Ladies VS Ricky Bhel", "Shuddh Desi Romance", "Fan", "Soch Lo", "Shrameya", "Mission Akshardham" and many many more.
A graduated of the National School of Drama, he specialises in Body Movement, Chhau and Martial Arts. He has made several acting appearances in films like "Raag Desh", "Ittefaq", "Dhadak" and many more.
